Payments
Mastercard
A card payment depends on both the merchant's checkout options and the card issuer's controls. Seeing a Mastercard logo does not guarantee that every transaction type will be accepted.
Confirm that the merchant currently accepts your card for the intended transaction, that the billing details match, and that your issuer permits the payment. For a withdrawal, check whether the merchant supports returning funds to that card.
Card acceptance can differ between purchases, deposits, recurring charges, and refunds. Check the payment screen for the exact transaction and currency, then review any issuer security prompt in the bank's own app or verified channel.
If a payment is declined, record the time, amount, currency, and reference shown. A generic decline message may not reveal whether the merchant, issuer, or an authentication step stopped the transaction. Ask the issuer or merchant through official channels rather than retrying repeatedly.
Do not assume a card deposit can be withdrawn back to the same card. Merchants use different payout routes and may apply account or payment rules. Read the specific service's current withdrawal guidance before choosing a deposit method.
Before using a card
- Merchant accepts this card for this transaction
- Currency and billing details are correct
- Issuer authentication completed through its official flow
- Withdrawal route checked separately from deposit acceptance
Acceptance is not universal
- A logo does not confirm eligibility for a specific merchant or region
- Repeated retries can create duplicate pending authorizations
- Do not share a card PIN or one-time bank code with support
Verify acceptance on the merchant's current payment screen and contact the issuer using the number or app on the card if a decline needs explanation.
