A bank transfer can pass through several steps before the destination shows it. Use the exact instructions for the account and transfer route, and keep enough evidence to trace the payment.
Match the payment details before sending
Confirm the beneficiary, account or routing details, currency, amount and any required reference exactly as shown by the receiving service. Save the confirmation and do not submit another transfer while the first is unresolved.
Read the receiving service's current instructions from the authenticated account or verified official page. Check whether the transfer needs a reference, unique payment code or exact beneficiary name. Do not copy bank details from an old screenshot or an unsolicited message.
After submitting, keep the bank confirmation, date and time, amount, currency and transfer reference. A bank status such as submitted or processing may not mean the receiving platform has matched and credited it. Use the stated route to check the status rather than assuming a universal processing window.
If the transfer is delayed or not matched, compare the receipt with the destination instructions and ask the bank or receiving service which stage has the record. Share only the requested reference through an official secure channel; redact unrelated account details from screenshots.
Before and after a transfer
- Verify beneficiary and destination account details
- Copy the exact required payment reference
- Confirm currency and amount
- Save the bank receipt and transfer ID
- Check the receiving service's status separately
- Use official support if the records do not match
Avoid duplicate or misdirected transfers
- Do not use changed bank details from an unverified message
- A missing reference can make matching harder
- Do not infer a fixed arrival time from another provider
- Do not share passwords or full banking credentials
Compare the receipt against the receiving service's exact current instructions, then follow up with the party that last recorded the transfer.
