Ethereum
Ethereum transactions use network instructions and fees that are separate from the amount being sent. Before moving ETH or a token, confirm the asset, destination, and exact network shown by both sides.
A wallet or service may show a fee estimate, but gas cost and processing depend on the transaction and network conditions. Review the destination, asset, network, and total debit; use the current wallet preview rather than an old fee or timing estimate.
On Ethereum, a transaction can transfer ether or interact with a smart contract. Network computation is measured in gas, and the fee is paid in ETH. Contract interactions can use a different amount of gas from a simple transfer, so a single quoted fee is not a permanent price for every transaction.
A transaction can remain pending while it awaits network inclusion, and the displayed status may change as it is processed. Save the transaction hash and check it with a trusted block explorer or the wallet's own activity view. A pending or failed status is not the same as a confirmed transfer to the intended recipient.
For a payment to an exchange or merchant, the receiving service may require a particular network or additional account reference. Ethereum-compatible token networks are not automatically interchangeable. Compare the deposit instructions with the sending screen before authorizing anything.
Before you send
- Confirm the asset and destination address
- Match the network on the sending and receiving screens
- Review the current fee estimate and total debit
- Keep the transaction hash and verify its status
Common costly errors
- Sending an asset over an unsupported network can prevent crediting
- Network fees can change with demand and transaction complexity
- A copied address should be checked before signing; transfers may not be reversible
Open the current send preview and compare asset, network, address, fee, and total before confirming.
