A Bitcoin transfer is identified by its address, network transaction, and confirmation state. A ticker or wallet label alone is not enough to establish that a deposit route is compatible.
Compare the receiving service's current Bitcoin deposit instructions with the wallet's asset and network selection. Verify the address, any required memo or tag if shown, minimums, and confirmation guidance before broadcasting.
A receiving address is tied to a particular asset and route. Copy it from the destination account immediately before use, then compare the beginning and end after pasting. Never reuse an old address just because it looks familiar; providers can change their instructions.
After sending, use the transaction ID to check the public network record and distinguish broadcast, confirmation, and account crediting. These are separate steps: a transaction visible on a network does not by itself confirm that a service has credited it.
If an address, selected network, or amount was wrong, do not send a second transfer as a test. Keep the transaction ID and timestamps and contact the receiving service using its official help route. Recovery depends on the destination's capabilities and is not guaranteed.
Before broadcasting a transfer
- Asset and network match the receiving instructions
- Address copied from the current destination screen
- Required tag/memo and any displayed minimum checked
- Transaction ID saved for status checks
Transfers may be difficult to reverse
- Do not infer network compatibility from a shared token symbol
- Do not share seed phrases or private keys with support
- Do not treat network confirmation as proof of account credit
Use the receiving service's current deposit screen as the authority and verify the complete route before sending funds.
