BEP20
BEP-20 is a token interface standard for BNB Smart Chain. The standard describes token behavior for compatible applications; it does not prove that a particular wallet or merchant accepts a token or transfer.
Confirm the exact asset and BNB Smart Chain route requested by the recipient, then match it to the wallet's send network, address, and current fee preview.
The BNB Chain proposal describes BEP-20 as a token-contract interface standard derived from ERC-20. That technical relationship does not make a BEP-20 route interchangeable with Ethereum or another network at a receiving service.
A ticker can appear on more than one chain, and a standard alone does not identify a legitimate token contract. Use the official recipient instructions and trusted asset information.
If BNB Smart Chain is not explicitly named in the receiving instructions, do not infer support from the BEP-20 label or a familiar address shape.
Before sending
- Match the recipient's exact BNB Smart Chain instruction
- Confirm token identity and destination address
- Review any memo or minimum requirement
- Check the live fee and keep the transaction hash
Do not infer
- Merchant support from the BEP-20 standard
- Network equivalence from similar address formats
- A successful send screen means the deposit is credited
Compare the receiving service's live instructions with the wallet preview and stop if their network labels differ.
